In 2009, after completing her Master’s in Anthropology, Zarinah published her first book—a project that became a resource in religious and cultural studies departments. This success ignited her desire to help others share their stories, leading to the creation of Book Power Publishing, where she has since helped more than 65 aspiring authors bring their books to life.
Zarinah’s own personal style has also inspired her work. Her unique approach to headwrapping caught the attention of people everywhere she went, and soon led to the founding of Beautifully Wrapped and the Headwrap Expo. This award-winning project has touched over 20,000 people through exhibitions, events, and workshops, celebrating the art, beauty, and cultural significance of headwrapping.
Beyond her work in publishing and cultural preservation, Zarinah is deeply passionate about helping women rediscover themselves through travel. Through Enliven Your Soul, she creates immersive experiences that take women to places like Japan, Morocco, Senegal, and Indonesia. These journeys offer more than just sightseeing—they are opportunities for transformation, connection, and personal growth.
With a B.S. in Systems and Computer Science from Howard University and a Master’s in Anthropology from Western Michigan University, Zarinah brings a unique blend of technical expertise and cultural insight to everything she does.
Today, she continues to help families preserve the stories, experiences, and wisdom of their elders through The Legacy Keepers Collective, ensuring that their legacies live on for generations to come.
